Unidentified Body Retrieved at Alogboshie as Accra Flood Death Toll Rises

An unidentified body has been retrieved from the Alogboshie area of Accra following the heavy rains and flooding that affected several parts of the capital earlier this week.
The body was discovered on Wednesday, July 1, after floodwaters began receding in sections of the community. The identity of the deceased and the circumstances surrounding the death are yet to be established.
Police are expected to transport the body to the mortuary after arriving at the scene with the necessary equipment.
The discovery comes in the aftermath of Monday’s torrential rains, which triggered widespread flooding across Accra, submerging roads, inundating homes and leaving thousands of commuters stranded for several hours.
The latest incident adds to the 12 flood-related deaths already confirmed by the Ghana National Fire Service following the devastating floods.
Authorities have urged residents to remain vigilant, avoid flood-prone areas and heed safety advice as recovery and emergency response efforts continue across affected communities.
