The accident involved a Toyota Corolla which reportedly overturned multiple times after hitting a pothole while negotiating a sharp curve under heavy fog conditions.

According to reports, the poor visibility caused by the fog, coupled with the damaged section of the road, may have contributed to the crash.

The incident has renewed concerns among road users and residents over safety conditions along the Akropong–Akufo stretch, particularly the presence of potholes and the dangers posed by reduced visibility during foggy weather.
