Government Expands Flood Relief to Seven Regions, Assures No Community Will Be Left Behind

The Minister for Government Communications, , has announced that government is intensifying relief efforts for victims of the recent floods, with emergency supplies already reaching some of the hardest-hit communities while preparations are underway to extend assistance to affected regions across the country.

He assured displaced families that no affected community would be left behind as government continues its coordinated response to the disaster.

According to Mr. Kwakye Ofosu, the floods have now affected seven regions, with the , and recording the most severe devastation.

He said that under the direct instruction of , the (NADMO), through its Relief and Donations Committee, has commenced the large-scale mobilisation and distribution of relief items to affected communities.

The relief supplies include food, clean drinking water, temporary shelter materials, blankets and essential medical supplies to support displaced families.

Mr. Kwakye Ofosu explained that the nationwide relief operation is being carried out in phases to ensure the orderly and timely delivery of assistance.

The first phase covered La Dade Kotopon, Ayawaso Central and Korle Klottey, while the second phase reached Krowor, Ga East (Dome-Kwabenya), Shai Osudoku, Ada East, Ablekuma North, Ada West and Okaikwei North.

He assured residents in the Central, Volta, Western, Ashanti, Western North and Eastern Regions that government has not overlooked them, adding that logistics are being deployed to transport relief supplies to affected communities.

“No affected community has been forgotten. Relief supplies are being deployed across the country, and every district in need will receive support,” he said.

Mr. Kwakye Ofosu noted that NADMO regional coordinators are already on the ground, with additional relief items expected to reach the affected regions from Saturday.

He also urged the public to remain vigilant by following safety advisories and reporting emergencies promptly to the appropriate authorities.

“Government will not rest until every displaced family is supported, every affected district is restored, and our communities are rebuilt to be stronger and more resilient,” he stated.

The Minister commended personnel of the , the , emergency responders, health workers and volunteers for their dedication throughout the rescue and relief operations, assuring Ghanaians that government will continue to provide regular updates as recovery efforts progress.
