ECG Restores Electricity Credit Purchases After Technical Disruption

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has resolved a technical challenge that disrupted the purchase of electricity credits for customers using MMS-compliant meters.

In a public notice issued on Monday, December 29, ECG said the problem affected the purchase of prepaid electricity credits through the ECG Mobile App, the *226# short code, and some third-party vending platforms.

The power distributor confirmed that the issue has now been fully fixed, restoring normal operations across all affected channels.

ECG assured customers that electricity credits can now be purchased seamlessly without any difficulty, adding that measures have been put in place to ensure continued reliability of its prepaid systems.
