Tragic Arson in Asuoso Fenaso: Daughter Killed, Father Lynched After Fire Over Alleged Sex Dispute
50-year-old farmer in Asuoso Fenaso, Offinso North District, Ashanti Region, allegedly set his home ablaze, resulting in the death of his 17-year-old daughter.
According to residents, the farmer targeted his wife in the arson attack, reportedly motivated by her refusal to engage in sexual relations. Seven of the eight people in the house escaped the fire, but the teenage girl, who was asleep, was trapped and perished.
Eyewitnesses reported that the suspect attempted suicide after the incident but was unsuccessful. Enraged community youth subsequently lynched him. The bodies of both the daughter and the suspect have been deposited at the mortuary.
The Ghana Police Service has launched an investigation, with heightened patrols in the area to prevent further unrest, amid growing concerns over rising violent crimes in the Ashanti Region.
