Man Jailed 18 Years for Sexually Abusing Three Young Siblings in Ahenema Kokoben

A 28-year-old man, Benjamin Kwabena, popularly known as Wofa Atta, has been sentenced to 18 years in prison for sexually abusing three young siblings at Ahenema Kokoben near Trede in the Ashanti Region.
The victims—an 11-year-old boy, a 4-year-old boy, and their female twin sister—are children of a 46-year-old charcoal seller named Mary Aboagye.
Wofa Atta took advantage of the close friendship between his elder sister and the children’s mother to gain easy access to the family home.
He often visited on his bicycle, offering the children rides to build trust. Over time, he used these visits to lure the kids to his own house where the abuse took place.
Court records show he sexually assaulted one victim three times, another twice, and the third once.
The crimes came to light when the youngest child warned her brother not to go with Wofa Atta anymore and revealed what had been happening. She told their mother, who quickly reported the matter to police, leading to his arrest.
The judge handed down the 18-year sentence to reflect the seriousness of the offences and to protect other children. The case has shocked the community and highlighted the need to watch over children’s safety around familiar people.
