Church of Pentecost Mmeredane District Donates Food Items and Toiletries to Sunyani Central Prisons

Inmates at the Sunyani Central Prisons in the Bono Region have received assorted food items and toiletries from the Mmeredane District of the Church of Pentecost as part of the church’s social outreach programme.
The donation, made on Saturday, formed part of activities marking the Church’s PEMEM Week celebration, which focuses on evangelism, welfare support, and community service.
District Pastor, Church of Pentecost, Ps. Benjamin Nobi, explained that the gesture was intended to support inmates and demonstrate Christian compassion, in line with Christ’s instruction to care for prisoners.
The items presented included bags of rice, cooking oil, soap, bread, gari, beans, kenkey and other toiletries, valued at about GH¢15,000. According to him, the donation was part of the district’s commitment to practical ministry during the PEMEM Week celebrations.
Receiving the items, the Chaplain of the Sunyani Central Prisons, Rev. Gideon Nda Buri, expressed gratitude to the church for the support. He assured that the items would be used appropriately to benefit inmates and also appreciated the church’s continued support for prison ministry initiatives.
Speaking on behalf of the Men’s Ministry, Emmanuel Osei Kofi, District Leader of the Mmeredane PEMEM, noted that PEMEM Week is observed to promote evangelism, support welfare needs, and advocate for the well-being of prisoners and members of the men’s fellowship within the church.
