Asutifi North MP Urges New Nurses to Accept Postings to Underserved Communities

The Member of Parliament for Asutifi North, Ebenezer Kwaku Addo, has appealed to newly trained nurses to accept postings to underserved and rural communities to help improve healthcare delivery across the country.
Speaking during the launch of the Free Primary Healthcare initiative in Goaso on July 2, 2026, Hon. Ebenezer Kwaku Addo said Ghana continues to face serious healthcare challenges in many rural communities because a large number of health workers prefer postings to major towns and cities.
According to him, this situation makes it difficult for the government to deploy enough healthcare professionals to deprived communities, leaving many residents with limited access to quality healthcare services.
He therefore used the occasion to urge newly qualified nurses to accept postings to underserved areas, stressing that their willingness to serve in rural communities will help bridge the healthcare gap and improve access to essential medical services for thousands of Ghanaians.
The MP noted that strengthening healthcare in rural communities is essential to achieving equitable healthcare delivery and ensuring that every Ghanaian, regardless of where they live, has access to quality primary healthcare
