WR: 44-Year-Old Taxi Driver Dies After Falling from Storey Building in Shama

A 44-year-old taxi driver, identified as Frank Essilfie Ebea, has died after falling from a storey building at the Abuesi Community Centre in the Shama District of the Western Region.
The tragic incident occurred in the early hours of Thursday, January 8, 2026. The Assembly Member for the area, Enock Arthur, told Connect News that he received a distress call and rushed to the scene, where he found the victim lying in a pool of blood.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the deceased was in the habit of exercising daily on the staircase of the unfinished community centre before going to work. The staircase, which is still under construction, has tyres lined along it as a safety measure. However, the Assembly Member suspects that the tyres may have become slippery, leading to the fatal fall.
Frank Essilfie Ebea, a native of the area, is survived by one child. Police investigations into the incident are ongoing.
