Two Suspected Armed Robbers Arrested in Ashaiman Over Violent Attacks

The Ashaiman Police Command has arrested two suspected armed robbers in connection with separate violent robbery attacks in Ashaiman and surrounding communities.
The suspects, identified as Nii Adjei and Selasie, are believed to be members of a criminal gang responsible for a series of attacks targeting residents in the municipality.
Police said one of the incidents occurred on May 27, 2026, when the suspects allegedly attacked a woman, Akosua Dwomo, as she attempted to board a vehicle.
The assailants reportedly wielded machetes, knives, and a pair of scissors during the attack, inflicting injuries on the victim before robbing her of her personal belongings.
In a separate incident, a 23-year-old man identified as Danquah was reportedly ambushed by the two suspects and about 20 other young men.
During the attack, Danquah sustained cutlass wounds to one of his fingers before the suspects allegedly made away with his mobile phone and GH¢1,600 in cash.
The two suspects are currently in police custody assisting with investigations.
The Ashaiman Police Command says efforts are ongoing to track down and arrest other members of the gang believed to have participated in the attacks. Authorities have also assured residents of their commitment to combating crime and ensuring that all those involved are brought to justice.
