Three Former Hohoe E.P. SHS Students Arrested for Destroying School Property

The Volta North Regional Police Command has arrested three immediate past students of Hohoe E.P. Senior High School who were captured in a viral video allegedly destroying school property after completing their final examinations.
According to a press release issued by the Public Affairs Unit of the Ghana Police Service on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, school authorities lodged a complaint with the police on Friday, June 19, after about five former students were seen in a video unlawfully damaging the school’s water pipeline before leaving for their various homes.
Following the complaint, the Regional Police Command mounted intelligence surveillance and apprehended three suspects. They have been identified as Rashid Suraj Dakpo, 19; Alhassan Mohammed, 20; and Abdul Kadri Abdulai, 20.
The suspects have been handed over to the Regional Investigations Department to assist with investigations and are being processed to face criminal charges.
The Volta North Regional Police Command noted that the destruction of school property by graduating students is becoming increasingly common and warned that anyone caught engaging in such acts would face the full rigours of the law.
Meanwhile, efforts are ongoing to apprehend the remaining suspects believed to have been involved in the incident.
The Command also urged parents, guardians, and teachers to continue educating their wards on the consequences of vandalism and other unlawful acts.
