Sokode Traditional Authorities Revoke Death Curse on President Akufo-Addo and UHAS Vice Chancellor

In a dramatic turn of events, the Sokode Traditional Authorities have swiftly revoked a death curse placed on President Akufo-Addo and Professor Lydia Aziato, Vice Chancellor of the University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS).

The curse was invoked by unidentified individuals opposing the conferment of an honorary doctorate on the President by UHAS. The controversy surrounding the honorary doctorate sparked heated debates, with the National Democratic Congress and a youth group, Concerned Volta Youth, vehemently opposing the decision.

In response, some individuals evoked the gods and spirit of late President John Evans Atta Mills to curse the President and Professor Aziato, threatening their lives. However, the Sokode Traditional Authorities intervened promptly, performing a counter-ritual to annul the curse.

Togbe Awee Japhet Amoako, Dutor of Sokode Traditional Area, emphasized that UHAS is situated on Sokode land, and any rituals performed without their knowledge are null and void. The authorities assured that the conferment ceremony would proceed without any calamities, stating, “Sokode Paramountcy has cancelled everything.” Preparations for the event are ongoing, with the honorary doctorate conferment and the commissioning of the China Phase Two expansion project set to take place as scheduled.
