The Member of Parliament for Ayawaso East, Mahama Naser Toure, has died at Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital following a period of illness.
A fourth-term legislator, Mr Toure served in several important roles in Parliament, including Vice Chairman of the Energy Committee and member of the Roads and Transport Committee, House Committee, and Private Members’ Bills and Motions Committee.
According to Second Deputy Majority Whip Richard Acheampong, the late MP will be buried today in line with Islamic tradition at his residence in Nima, Accra.
The news has sent shockwaves through political circles and his constituency, where he was known for his dedication and service.
