President Mahama Declares July 10 and 11 as National General Cleaning Days

President John Dramani Mahama has declared Friday, July 10, and Saturday, July 11, 2026, as National General Cleaning Days in the seven regions affected by the recent floods.
The exercise, under the theme “Our Actions, Our Future: Cleaning Ghana after the floods,” will involve a two-day nationwide cleanup focused on desilting drains, clearing roads, and cleaning public spaces.
The initiative is aimed at restoring sanitation and preventing further health and environmental risks in communities devastated by the heavy rains and flooding that occurred in late June.

All citizens, particularly in the affected regions, are expected to participate actively in the cleanup efforts to help rehabilitate public spaces and improve drainage systems.
