Police Interdict Five Officers Over Viral Misconduct Videos

The Ghana Police Service has interdicted five personnel captured in viral videos engaging in conduct deemed to have brought the Service into disrepute.
According to a press release issued by the Police Public Affairs Directorate on May 4, 2026, the affected officers include Chief Inspector Matthew Blay, Chief Inspector Francis Arthur, Inspector Eric Osei of the Osu Police Station in Accra, Sergeant Amos Dery of the National Protection Unit (NPU), and Inspector Joseph Okyere Asabre of the Obuasi Police District.
The statement indicated that the officers have been handed over to the Police Professional Standards Bureau for investigations in line with internal disciplinary procedures.
The Service reaffirmed its commitment to professionalism, integrity, and accountability, assuring the public that appropriate action will be taken upon the conclusion of investigations.
