A 23-year-old palm wine tapper has been arrested by police at Bibiani Subrinkwanta for allegedly setting his girlfriend’s family home on fire, resulting in the deaths of three people.
The suspect, identified as Numatekpor Kwaku, also known as “On God,” is accused of carrying out the attack following a dispute with his girlfriend’s family.
The victims have been named as 19-year-old Benedicta Cudjoe, a student of Queen Senior High School, her 59-year-old mother, Mary Oppong Andoh, and 21-year-old Dora Adoma Cudjoe.
According to residents, tensions had been escalating after the family warned the suspect to stay away from Benedicta, citing her status as a student and their disapproval of the relationship.
