One of the crashes involved a MAN Diesel TGS truck with registration number GT 9993-18, travelling from Tema to Tamale, and a Toyota Camry with registration number GE 735-14, which was travelling from Nkwanta to Accra.

Rescue crews successfully extricated and rescued 24 victims, comprising seven males and 17 females, who were transported to the Peki Government Hospital for treatment.

However, four persons—one male and three females—were pronounced dead at the scene. Their bodies were subsequently handed over to the police for preservation and further investigations.

In a separate incident at the Ho Civic Centre, firefighters from the Ho Regional Headquarters responded to another road traffic crash after receiving a distress call at 13:04 GMT.
