NHIA Promises Timely Reimbursement

NHIA Chief Executive, Dr Victor Asare Bampoe, said the Authority remains committed to promptly reimbursing recredentialed health facilities once their claims have undergone the necessary verification and vetting.

He explained that timely reimbursement is essential to enable healthcare providers to maintain adequate supplies and resources needed to deliver quality services to NHIS members.

“We know the facilities need the payment to procure consumables to enable them to provide quality care to our members, and it is for this reason we ensure that as soon as their claims have been vetted, we promptly pay them,” Dr Bampoe said.

The NHIA said timely claims reimbursement forms part of its broader efforts to strengthen healthcare financing and support uninterrupted service delivery under the NHIS.

The latest payment is expected to provide health facilities with additional resources to sustain operations and continue providing healthcare services to insured members across the country.
