Tepa Nursing and Midwifery Training College Appeals for Infrastructure Support

The Principal of the Tepa Nursing and Midwifery Training College in the Ahafo Ano North Municipality of the Ashanti Region, Mr. Sebel Williams, has appealed to the government and other stakeholders to urgently address the institution’s growing infrastructural challenges.

Speaking during the college’s 17th Matriculation Ceremony and send-off event held in honour of former Principal Dr. Albert Opoku, Mr. Williams highlighted several pressing issues affecting academic and residential life on campus.

According to him, the college is grappling with the absence of a perimeter fence wall, inadequate lecture halls, insufficient hostel accommodation for students, lack of staff housing, and the absence of a power plant.

He described the situation as worrying and stressed the need for immediate intervention to improve teaching and learning conditions at the institution.

The Board Chairman of the college, Hon. David Addai Amankwaa, also joined the appeal, calling on the government, private individuals, and corporate organisations to support efforts to protect the school’s lands from encroachment.

He particularly appealed for assistance in fencing the college to prevent further encroachment on the institution’s property.

Meanwhile, the Municipal Chief Executive for Ahafo Ano North, Hon. Kwasi Adusei, assured the college of support in addressing its water challenges.

According to him, the Municipal Assembly will take steps to construct a water system for the school to ensure a stable water supply for students and staff.

The event formed part of activities marking the matriculation of newly admitted students and the farewell ceremony for the former principal, Dr. Albert Opoku.
