The pledge follows Ghana’s placement in Group L alongside England, Panama, and Croatia — a grouping widely regarded as one of the most challenging in the expanded 48-team tournament.
In a statement issued via the social media platform X on Saturday, December 6, 2025, Mr. Ablakwa expressed full confidence in the national team while emphasizing the role of diplomacy in ensuring robust representation of Ghanaian supporters at matches across North America.
“We have unflinching confidence in our heroic Black Stars to make us proud despite having been drawn in a competitive group,” the Minister stated. “Now, it is our duty to leverage cordial diplomatic alliances to ensure a good number of Ghanaian soccer fans get the opportunity to zestfully support the team in the US and Canada, as our supporters are globally renowned for.
