NDC Issues Protocols for Upcoming Constituency Elections

The National Democratic Congress has outlined protocols to govern the conduct of the upcoming Constituency Executive Elections across the country.

In a press release dated 13 October 2026 and signed by General Secretary Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, the Party informed all members, aspirants, delegates, Constituency Election Committees and the general public of the following rules:

There shall be no proxy voting. Every delegate must be physically present to cast his or her vote.

For the purpose of validation, one of the following identification documents shall be required: a valid Voter ID card; a Party ID card (the plastic card); or a Ghana Card.

Ballots cast for the Women’s and Youth Conferences shall be kept and counted only at the end of polls of the main Constituency Executive Elections.

Each delegate shall have only one vote in respect of the “Other Eight” positions. Accordingly, there shall be no tally voting.

The Party further informed the public that the Ghana Police Service will be responsible for security at all election centres, while the Electoral Commission of Ghana will conduct and supervise the electoral processes with the support of various Constituency Election Committees.

All Constituency Election Committees, aspirants and delegates are urged to familiarise themselves with these protocols and to adhere strictly to them, to ensure that the elections are conducted in a free, fair, transparent and peaceful manner.

The Party counts on the cooperation of all members as it works together to strengthen its internal democracy and unity ahead of the National Congress.
