Former Vice President and NPP flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, together with several leading members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has joined the Member of Parliament for Akyem Oda, Alexander Akwasi Acquah, to mourn the passing of Maxwell Kofi Anti, popularly known as Kofi Nti.
Kofi Nti, a former aide to the MP, died in a tragic road accident while monitoring the ongoing NPP polling station executive elections in the constituency.
The one-week observation and funeral rites took place in Akyem Oda, drawing party faithful, family members, sympathisers, and well-wishers from across the area.
Dr. Bawumia paid tribute to the deceased, describing him as humble, dedicated, and deeply committed to the NPP, particularly through his contributions to Information Technology (IT) activities within the Akyem Oda Constituency.
Speaking on behalf of the constituency, the Akyem Oda NPP Constituency Organizer, David Okyere (popularly known as Okyeman), described Kofi Nti as a hardworking, loyal, and devoted party member whose efforts significantly advanced the party’s growth in the area.
“He served the party diligently in various capacities and will be greatly missed by party faithful and the entire Akyem Oda community,” he stated.
Several NPP executives and supporters shared fond memories of the late Kofi Nti, describing him as a committed grassroots mobiliser and dependable activist. They offered prayers for his soul and asked God to grant him eternal rest.
