Former spokesperson for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s presidential campaign, Dennis Miracles Aboagye, has officially announced his intention to contest for the position of National Communications Director of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP).
In a video shared on X on Sunday, July 12, 2026, Miracles said his decision forms part of efforts to strengthen the party’s communication machinery as it prepares for future elections.
According to him, he is seeking the mandate to help reposition the NPP’s communication strategy and ensure the party effectively communicates its policies, values, and vision to Ghanaians.
“The time has come to strengthen our communication structures and build a more responsive and effective system that connects with the Ghanaian people,” he indicated in his announcement.
The National Communications Director is one of the NPP’s key national executive positions, responsible for coordinating the party’s communication strategy, media relations, public messaging, and engagement with stakeholders.
Dennis Miracles Aboagye has served in several political and communication roles within the party. Most recently, he was the spokesperson for former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s 2024 presidential campaign. He also previously served as the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Akuapem North.
His declaration comes as the New Patriotic Party gears up for its national delegates conference and internal elections to elect new national executives following the party’s defeat in the 2024 general election.
