NDC Best Positioned to Develop New Regions – Asiedu Nketia Assures Western North Residents

The National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has asserted that his party is best equipped to transform the administrative creation of Ghana’s new regions into tangible development that improves living conditions for residents.

The declaration came during a two-day thank-you tour of the Western North Region, where the NDC Chairman engaged traditional rulers, religious leaders, party executives, grassroots supporters, and residents across multiple districts.

The tour covered Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai, Sefwi Wiawso, Bia West, Bia East, Juaboso, Bodi, Akontombra, Suaman, and Aowin.

Speaking to residents in Juaboso, Mr Asiedu Nketia expressed appreciation for the strong support the NDC continues to receive in the region, especially during challenging political periods. He assured the people that their loyalty would be rewarded with meaningful development interventions.

He disclosed that plans are underway to establish a nursing training college in the Western North Region and promised that major infrastructure projects being implemented in other regions would be extended to the area.

While acknowledging that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) oversaw the creation of the new regions, Mr Asiedu Nketia argued that it would take an NDC-led government to fully develop them and unlock their true potential.

The Chief of Sefwi Abrokofe, Nana Kwabena Yeboah II, speaking on behalf of the Chief of Sefwi Boinzan, expressed gratitude to the government for the appointment of the Member of Parliament for Juaboso, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, as Minister of Health, and Nana Ofori Ahenkan II as Board Chairman of the Ghana National Fire Service.

He noted that these appointments have already begun yielding positive outcomes for the district but appealed to the government to urgently address the poor state of roads and rising youth unemployment, which he said continues to expose young people to social vices.

Responding to the concerns, the Juaboso MP, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, assured residents that road infrastructure development remains a top priority for the government. He outlined key projects, including the Juaboso Barrier–Bonsu Nkwanta road and several other critical roads earmarked for rehabilitation.
