MP Climbs Fence to Inspect Abandoned Afari Hospital After Access Denied

Member of Parliament, Hon. Shirley Kyei, scaled a fence wall to gain access to the abandoned Afari Government Hospital after security personnel reportedly denied her entry for the second consecutive day.

The dramatic move occurred during an attempted inspection of the facility, which has remained unused despite concerns over its condition and the need for healthcare services in the area.

According to reports, security officers stationed at the hospital refused to grant the MP access to the premises, prompting her to climb over the fence in order to assess the state of the facility firsthand.

The incident has sparked public discussion, with many questioning why an elected representative was prevented from inspecting a government-funded project.

Hon. Kyei is expected to raise concerns about the hospital’s status and seek answers regarding the prolonged abandonment of the facility.

The Afari Government Hospital has been a subject of public interest in recent years, with residents and stakeholders calling for its operationalisation to improve healthcare delivery in the region.
