Captain Smart to Akufo-Addo: “You’ll Be Voted Out No Matter What You Do
Outspoken journalist and Onua TV/Radio morning show host, Captain Smart, has issued a stern warning to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and the New Patriotic Party (NPP), declaring that no matter their efforts, they will be voted out in the upcoming general elections.
Captain Smart expressed anger over reports that soldiers had been deployed to search the homes of certain citizens for weapons. He accused the government of using the military to intimidate political opponents as the election period approached.
Captain Smart’s Claims
In his fiery statement, Captain Smart drew comparisons to former President Jerry John Rawlings, pointing out that even he, as a military leader, peacefully relinquished power to democratic processes.
“Rawlings was a military leader but handed over power. Why is Akufo-Addo acting otherwise?” Captain Smart questioned.
He further emphasized that such tactics would not save the NPP from losing power in the elections, warning:
“No matter what you do, the people will vote you out.”
Public Reaction
The allegations of military intimidation have sparked concerns among citizens and opposition parties, who view the actions as undermining democratic principles. Captain Smart’s bold declaration adds to the growing criticism of the government’s approach ahead of the elections.
