NPP Polls: Mussa Dankwah Predicts Bawumia Wins 14 Out of 16 Regions

Pollster Mussa Dankwah has predicted that former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia will win 14 out of the 16 regions in today’s New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential primaries.
Speaking on Key Points on Saturday, January 31, 2026, Dankwah said Bawumia would not win only in the Central and Volta regions.
“Bawumia is winning 14 out of the 16 regions,” he stated.
He further insisted there would be no second round in the election, projecting a clear first-round victory for Bawumia.
“There will be no second round,” Dankwah said.
His forecast contrasts with earlier comments from Researcher and Financial Economist Dr Evans Duah on the same programme, who said a runoff is possible but added that if anyone crosses 50% + 1, it would most likely be Kennedy Agyapong.
“A runoff is possible… If anyone is crossing the 50 plus one, it’s Kennedy Agyapong,” Dr Duah noted.
Over 211,000 delegates are voting nationwide today to choose the NPP’s flagbearer for the 2028 general election.
The five aspirants are:
Kennedy Ohene Agyapong
Dr Bryan Acheampong
Dr Mahamudu Bawumia
Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum
Kwabena Agyei Agyepong
While various polls have tipped Bawumia as the favourite, others have pointed to a strong showing by Agyapong. Adutwum, Acheampong and Agyepong are hoping for an upset.
The real poll is underway now — results later today will settle the debates, projections and analysis once and for all.
