MAN WHO THREATENED TO KILL POLICE AND SOLDIERS ARRESTED

The Ghana Police Service has arrested a young man who recently went viral on social media after allegedly threatening to kill police officers and soldiers.
The suspect gained public attention after a video surfaced online showing him warning that any police officer or military personnel sent to confront armed robbers in his area would lose their lives, even if they were unarmed.
In the video, he also claimed that spiritual protection, popularly referred to as “juju,” would not save security officers who crossed his path.
The remarks triggered widespread condemnation from the public, with many calling for his immediate arrest over the threats directed at security personnel.
On Thursday, May 7, 2026, the Ghana Police Service confirmed the arrest in a brief statement shared on social media.
“The young man seen in a viral video issuing threats to kill police officers has been arrested,” the statement said.
The arrest has since been welcomed by many Ghanaians, who believe threats against law enforcement officers must be treated seriously.
Police are expected to continue investigations into the matter.
