Freedom Time Praying Partners Settle Over GHS 60,000 Medical Bills at Korle-Bu and Children’s Hospital

Members of the Freedom Time Praying Partners, a Christian prayer group, have brought relief to several patients and their families by settling outstanding medical bills at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital and the Princess Marie Louise Children’s Hospital in Accra.
Speaking during the donation, the leader of the group, Pastor Bernard Owusu Ansah, explained that the gesture formed part of activities leading to his birthday. He said the occasion motivated him and his team to visit the two health facilities to clear the bills of patients who had completed treatment but could not afford to pay.
According to Pastor Ansah, the group paid close to GHS 70,000 in total for patients at both hospitals. He used the opportunity to appeal to well-meaning and affluent Ghanaians to support the needy, especially the sick and vulnerable still on admission in hospitals.
Monica Appiah, Deputy Chief Nursing Officer at the Stroke Department of the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, commended the Freedom Time Praying Partners for the kind gesture. She noted that such support helps ease the burden on both patients and the hospital, and encouraged Ghanaians to go for regular medical check-ups to prevent avoidable diseases and complications.
Beneficiaries, including mothers of children on admission, expressed deep gratitude to the group. They said the intervention came at a time of great difficulty and brought them immense relief after being stranded at the hospital following discharge due to unpaid bills.
