Bono East Minister Pledges Full Support for Free Zones to Attract Investors

Bono East Regional Minister, Hon. Francis Owusu Antwi, has assured the Ghana Free Zones Authority of strong collaboration to attract investments and drive economic growth in the region.
The pledge was made when a delegation from the Ghana Free Zones Authority paid a courtesy call on the Minister at the Bono East Regional Coordinating Council in Techiman.
Mr. Effah Prince, Bono East Regional Director of the Ghana Free Zones Authority, noted that this is the first time the region has hosted a Free Zones office since Bono East was carved out of the former Brong Ahafo Region in 2018. He expressed gratitude to the Member of Parliament for Techiman and Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, Hon. Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, for her role in making the office a reality.
Mr. Effah explained that the Authority’s mandate is to attract investment, create jobs and promote sustainable economic development. He appealed to traditional leaders, the business community, political leaders and the people of Bono East to support the office in bringing more investments to the region.
Responding, Hon. Francis Owusu Antwi described the region as richly endowed with export potential. He reaffirmed the Regional Coordinating Council’s commitment to working closely with the Ghana Free Zones Authority.
“I look forward to a fruitful partnership that will contribute to the growth and development of Bono East and Ghana as a whole,” the Minister stated.
The meeting focused on identifying practical areas of collaboration to promote investment, industrial development and economic expansion in the region.
