BECE Candidate Arrested Over Alleged Assault on Female Teacher in Central Region

A recent BECE candidate has been arrested for allegedly assaulting a female teacher at St. John’s Catholic ‘B’ Basic School.

 

The suspect, identified as James Mensah, is alleged to have attacked Madam Matilda Mensah, a Science teacher at the school, during instructional hours.

 

Reports indicate that the suspect later proceeded to the teacher’s residence, where he allegedly issued further threats.

 

The incident reportedly sparked concern among teachers and residents within the community.

 

According to available information, there were initial delays in police intervention, prompting officials of the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) to step in and assist in efforts leading to the suspect’s arrest.

 

James Mensah is currently in police custody and is expected to be processed before court as investigations into the incident continue.
