Ashanti North Police Investigate Viral Video of Alleged Misconduct Involving Policewoman

The police has launched an investigation into a viral video circulating on social media that allegedly captures misconduct involving a policewoman in the Afrancho/Akomadan District of the Ashanti North Region.

In a statement issued on Sunday, July 5, 2026, the Ashanti North Regional Police Command said it had taken notice of the video and had commenced investigations to establish the full facts and circumstances surrounding the incident, which reportedly occurred on Friday, July 3, 2026.

According to the Command, the police officer seen in the video has been identified, and investigators are working to determine what transpired.

The Police assured the public that appropriate action would be taken based on the outcome of the investigation.

The Command also reaffirmed the Ghana Police Service’s commitment to professionalism, discipline and accountability in the discharge of its duties.

It added that further updates would be provided as investigations progress.
