Adugyama Community Senior High School in the Ahafo Ano South East District has launched its 10th anniversary of academic excellence, marking a decade of dedication to quality education while drawing attention to the pressing infrastructure challenges confronting the institution.
Speaking at the school’s 10th anniversary launch, Headmaster Dr Emmanuel Asuah Dadzie said Adugyama SHS has made remarkable progress over the past 10 years despite operating with inadequate infrastructure.
He disclosed that the school urgently requires additional dormitory facilities, a dining hall, an administration block, toilet facilities and a modern poultry unit to support practical agricultural education.
According to him, apart from the E-block classroom facility constructed under the administration of President John Dramani Mahama, the school has not received any additional infrastructure to match its growing student population.
Dr Dadzie further expressed concern over the absence of a secured main entrance, explaining that the situation makes it easier for some students to leave campus without permission. He added that frequent power outages, especially at night, continue to disrupt teaching, learning and other academic activities.
Despite these challenges, the Headmaster said the school remains committed to producing disciplined, responsible and academically successful students.
Dr Dadzie therefore appealed to the Government, non-governmental organisations, philanthropists, corporate institutions and other development partners to support Adugyama SHS with the necessary infrastructure to improve teaching and learning.
He expressed confidence that with the needed support, the school would build on its 10-year legacy of excellence and continue producing graduates who will contribute meaningfully to Ghana’s national development.
