Takoradi: Teacher’s Name Written with Faeces on Whiteboard at Mpintsin AME Zion School

Students and teachers at Mpintsin AME Zion School in Sekondi-Takoradi, Western Region, found a shocking sight on Monday morning. Someone broke into the JHS 2B classroom overnight and defecated inside.
The person used the faeces to write on the whiteboard: “ACOSA bra betsi,” meaning “ACOSA, come and clean it.” ACOSA is John Johnson, the local Assembly Member and a former teacher at the school.
The act has upset the school and community, including the chief.
Teachers started a sit-down strike right away. They refuse to use the classroom until it is cleaned.
One teacher told Connect FM’s Omanbapa Morning Show host Nhyiraba Paa Kwesi Simpson: “We are on strike to show our anger. We met with the Mpintsin chief and the School Improvement Officer. The chief promised a new whiteboard and fresh paint for the room.”
The chief has brought paint and a new board. But teachers say the strike continues until all work is done. The community also promised to hire a security guard for the school.
Police are investigating to find the culprit.
Assembly Member John Johnson (ACOSA) is sad about the incident. He thinks enemies want to ruin his name.
“I know this is someone trying to damage my reputation. But it will not stop me. It will push me to do more for the community,” he said.
