Woman in Her Thirties Commits Suicide at Dunkwa-Kadadwen Over Suspected Husband’s Infidelity

Dunkwa-Kadadwen, Upper Denkyira East Municipality, Central Region, Ghana – A woman believed to be in her thirties, identified as Margaret, has tragically taken her own life at Dunkwa-Kadadwen in the Upper Denkyira East Municipality.

According to reports, Margaret allegedly drank car battery acid after suspecting her husband, Braa Yaw, of having an affair with other women.

She was immediately rushed to the Dunkwa Government Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival despite efforts by medical personnel to save her.

The incident has left family members and the community in shock, with many expressing concern over the emotional distress that may have driven her to take such a drastic step.

Meanwhile, in a separate case, the Dunkwa Circuit Court has sentenced a 42-year-old man, Kwaku Joseph, to 15 years imprisonment with hard labour for defiling a 15-year-old girl.

The court, presided over by Her Lordship Afia Densi Asare-Kyire, delivered the judgment last Friday.

The police prosecutor told the court that the accused lured the victim into his room and had sexual intercourse with her on two consecutive occasions. He allegedly gave her GH¢10 and warned her not to disclose the act to anyone or she would die.

The conviction and sentencing have been welcomed by child protection advocates, who hope it will serve as a strong deterrent against sexual abuse of minors in the area
