Two Robbers Arrested in Ahafo After Violent Attacks on Gold, Cocoa Firms and Bank

The Ahafo Regional Police Command has arrested two suspects believed to be part of a robbery syndicate responsible for a series of violent attacks in Nkasiem on Monday, December 2, 2025.
The armed group targeted:
A gold buying company
A cocoa buying company
An attempted break-in at the Asutifi Rural Bank vault
All incidents occurred within the same area.
One Person Shot
The robbers, using pump-action guns, shot and wounded one individual in the thigh. The victim was treated at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Hwidiem and has been discharged.
Police Launch Manhunt
The arrests followed an intelligence-led operation. A manhunt is ongoing for the remaining members of the syndicate.
The Inspector-General of Police has deployed a special anti-robbery team from National Police Headquarters in Accra to bolster the regional effort.
“All members of this criminal group will be identified and arrested to face the full rigours of the law,” the police stated.
