Two pupils of Alice Elites Academy have died following a tragic school bus accident at Assin Kwafokrom in the Central Region.
The incident occurred along the Assin Kwafokrom–Homaho stretch when the school bus reportedly veered off the road and plunged into a nearby river after the driver lost control of the vehicle.
More than 40 pupils sustained injuries in the crash and were rushed to nearby health facilities for treatment.
According to reports, all the injured students have since been treated and discharged.
The accident has thrown the school community and residents into mourning following the loss of the two pupils.
Meanwhile, the Ghana Police Service has commenced investigations to determine the exact cause of the accident.
