Two Found Dead in Nsuta Phone Repair Shop; Generator Fumes Suspected

A tragic incident has occurred at a mobile phone repair shop in Nsuta in the Sekyere Central District of the Ashanti Region, where two people were found dead inside the premises on Sunday night.
The deceased have been identified as Emmanuel Kwarteng, popularly known as “Puka,” the owner and technician of No Fears Mobile Phone Shop, and Jullie, an apprentice hairdresser who had reportedly visited the shop to repair her mobile phone.
According to information gathered from the scene, the incident is believed to have occurred around 8:00 p.m. during a prolonged power outage accompanied by heavy rainfall.
Preliminary observations by investigators suggest that the victims may have died from inhaling carbon monoxide fumes after a generator was allegedly operated inside the enclosed shop. However, authorities have indicated that the exact cause of death is yet to be established pending police investigations and medical examinations.
The bodies have since been conveyed to the morgue at the Asante Mampong Hospital for preservation and further examination.
The incident has left residents of Nsuta in shock, with many expressing sadness over the loss of the two young lives.
Meanwhile, authorities have used the occasion to remind the public of the dangers associated with operating generators in enclosed spaces, warning that carbon monoxide exposure can be fatal.
Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
