President Mahama Praises Chief of Staff Julius Debrah as Brainchild of Kwahu Business Forum

President John Dramani Mahama has given special praise to his Chief of Staff, Honourable Julius Debrah, for conceiving and driving the success of the Kwahu Business Forum.

Speaking at the ongoing 2026 edition of the forum, President Mahama described Debrah as his “friend and co-conspirator” who envisioned the idea of turning the traditional Kwahu Easter homecoming into a serious platform for discussing Ghana’s economic future.

“My friend and co-conspirator, Julius Debrah conceived the idea that as we gather in Kwahu to celebrate, we must also create a business forum focused on Ghana’s economic future,” the President said.

He detailed how the forum started modestly in 2024 as a stakeholder engagement and has grown rapidly into one of the country’s most important annual economic gatherings, now in its third edition.

President Mahama also unveiled ambitious plans to take the forum to the next level by constructing a permanent convention, conference, and exhibition centre on the site, in partnership with Metalex and Trasacco.

“We want to take this whole thing a step further. We are working with Metalex and Trasacco to build a permanent convention, conference and exhibition center on this site,” he announced.

He further revealed plans to construct an airstrip in Kwahu to facilitate easier access for both domestic and international participants.

“We want to have an airstrip here so that flights can come in, both domestically and people from outside who want to come and attend conferences,” the President stated.

The Kwahu Business Forum continues to serve as a non-partisan platform that brings together business leaders, policymakers, investors, entrepreneurs, and startups for networking, investment matchmaking, mentorship, and policy dialogue aimed at driving national development and industrialisation.
