Police Clamp Down on Criminal Activities in Senya Beraku

The Central East Regional Police Command on 17th December 2025 carried out an intelligence-led operation at three separate locations within the Senya Beraku enclave in the Central Region as part of efforts to curb criminal activities in the area.
The operation commenced at Kukwado, a coastal community, where six (6) suspects were arrested in possession of substances suspected to be Indian hemp and other related items. The team then moved to a yellow house near a cemetery, where four (4) suspects, including a female, were arrested. Items retrieved from the location included dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp, locally brewed gin (akpeteshie/laka), a 32-inch television set, and various brands of cigarettes.
The police further proceeded to Awiaso, where three (3) suspects, including a female, were apprehended. Exhibits found at the scene included dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp, a toy gun, shisha, local gin, and a game pot. The hideouts used by the suspects were subsequently destroyed by fire by the police team.

In total, thirteen (13) suspects were arrested during the operation. They are:

The suspects and all exhibits are currently in police custody, assisting with ongoing investigations. The Police Command has reiterated its commitment to sustaining operations aimed at maintaining peace, safety, and security within the Senya Beraku area and beyond
