Police Arrest Three in Crackdown on Robbery Network in Akatsi

The Ghana Police Service has arrested three suspects in a targeted intelligence-led operation aimed at dismantling a robbery network operating in Akatsi and surrounding communities.
The operation, spearheaded by the Special Operations Assistant to the Inspector-General of Police, followed a series of reported robbery incidents in the area.
Police identified the suspects as Enoch Adoglo, Cephas Aniwaa, and David Adzinu.
Adoglo was first arrested at Gavekope on April 21, 2026. Subsequent operations led officers to the outskirts of the same community, where Aniwaa—believed to be a blacksmith manufacturing and supplying weapons to the group—was apprehended. A third suspect, Adzinu, was also picked up during the operation.
A search conducted on the suspects uncovered a cache of weapons and materials, including seven single-barrel rifles, five locally manufactured pistols, one revolver, and several rounds of ammunition. Police also retrieved mobile phones and tools suspected to have been used in weapon fabrication.
Further investigations have identified Mensah Kedzi as a key figure linked to the robbery activities, including an incident reported on April 3, 2026. He is currently on the run along with other accomplices identified as Akakpo, an ex-convict, and one Ageh.
Police say efforts have been intensified to apprehend the remaining suspects and dismantle the entire network, assuring the public that all those involved will be brought to justice
