Petrosol Platinum Energy Denies Involvement in Premix Fuel and MGO Diversion Allegations

Petrosol Platinum Energy has strongly refuted claims in a viral video alleging that the company was involved in selling premix fuel as regular petrol and diverting Marine Gas Oil (MGO) for sale as ordinary gas oil.
In an official statement released by its management, the indigenous oil marketing company described the accusations as completely false and misleading. The claims originated from a video posted by controversial media personality Okatakyei Afrifa on Sunday, March 1, 2026, which wrongly included Petrosol among oil marketing companies supposedly named by the Office of the Special Prosecutor.
“Our attention has been drawn to a misleading video circulating posted by Okatakyei Afrifa on Sunday, March 1, 2026. The video falsely claims that PETROSOL Platinum Energy is among the Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) listed by the Office of the Special Prosecutor for selling premix fuel as petrol at their stations and diverting Marine Gas Oil (MGO) to sell as regular Gas Oil,” the statement read.
Petrosol emphasized that it was not mentioned in any recent publication or list issued by the anti-corruption body.
“For the record, PETROSOL is NOT listed in the Office of the Special Prosecutor’s recent release and has NEVER been involved in such practices,” the company stressed.
Management revealed that it has already reached out directly to Okatakyei Afrifa, requesting a retraction of the inaccurate claims.
“We have contacted Mr. Afrifa directly to retract accordingly,” the statement added.
The company used the opportunity to reaffirm its strict adherence to regulatory requirements and commitment to maintaining high standards in the petroleum sector.
“Please be rest assured that PETROSOL adheres strictly to regulatory standards and industry best practices. Our commitment to ethical business practices and high product quality remains unwavering as we continually meet the fuel and lubricants needs of our customers,” it noted.
As an indigenous OMC, Petrosol highlighted its strong track record of compliance, pointing out that it has received commendations from both the Ghana Revenue Authority and the National Petroleum Authority for exemplary tax and regulatory performance.
The company also referenced its international certification for quality management and national quality awards, positioning itself as a model operator in the energy industry.
“As an indigenous Oil Marketing Company (OMC) that is internationally certified for quality management and has won national quality awards… we want to assure our customers and the general public that we will continue to be a model of excellence in the energy sector,” management declared.
Petrosol concluded by restating its core mission, saying it remains dedicated to “energizing dreams, igniting hope and powering the achievement of the goals and aspirations of our customers and all our stakeholders.”
