One Dead, Two Injured in Armed Robbery on Mobile Money Vendor at Gomoa Dominase Onion Market

One person has been killed and two others injured following a suspected armed robbery on a mobile money (MoMo) vendor at the Gomoa Dominase Onion Market.
The attack occurred around 8:00 pm on Saturday, June 6, 2026, when four armed men stormed the vending point, opened fire on victims, and made away with an unspecified amount of money.
The injured mobile money vendor is currently on admission at the Gomoa Potsin Polyclinic. A customer who sustained severe gunshot wounds was rushed to the Trauma and Specialist Hospital in Winneba but was pronounced dead upon arrival. Another victim with gunshot injuries has also been referred to the Winneba hospital for further treatment.
The brazen attack has left traders and residents in the area in a state of shock and panic.
The Ghana Police Service has begun investigations into the incident and is appealing to the public for any information that could help track down the perpetrators.
This incident highlights the growing security concerns surrounding mobile money operators and traders in open markets across the country. Local authorities are expected to intensify security measures in the area to restore confidence and prevent similar attacks.
