Bekwai Circuit Court has sentenced a 25-year-old okada rider, Baffour Kwakye, to 10 years in prison for defiling a five-year-old boy.
The crime happened in Kokofu, Bekwai Municipality, Ashanti Region. Kwakye lured the boy with money and took him to an uncompleted building where he committed the act.
The victim told his mother, who reported it to the police. Medical tests confirmed the assault.
Kwakye pleaded not guilty but was found guilty after trial. The judge gave him 10 years with hard labour.
The court aims to protect children and stop such crimes.
