Offinso South NPP Delegates Allege Register Manipulation, Call for National Intervention

A group of delegates of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Offinso South Constituency have raised concerns over alleged irregularities in the party’s delegates register and album compilation process.
Addressing a press conference in Offinso, former Chairman of the Amoawe D/A Polling Station, Mr. Sulemana Ahmed, accused constituency executives of unfairly removing the names of some delegates from the party’s records.
According to Mr. Ahmed, several longstanding party members who have dedicated years of service to the NPP were surprised to discover that their names had been omitted from the constituency’s delegates register and album without any explanation.
He alleged that the Offinso South Constituency Chairman, Mr. Joe Sala, and the Constituency Secretary, Mr. Nsiah Boakye, manipulated the registration process to favour individuals aligned with their interests.
Mr. Ahmed stated that throughout his years of active involvement in the party, he played a key role in expanding the NPP’s support base, particularly within Zongo communities in the constituency. He argued that the alleged exclusion of committed members undermines their contributions to the growth and development of the party.
He further warned that some aggrieved members are considering resigning from the NPP if the party’s national leadership fails to intervene and address what they describe as a coordinated effort to remove legitimate delegates from the register.
Other affected members who addressed the media also called on the national executives of the NPP to immediately investigate the matter and ensure fairness and transparency in the party’s internal processes.
The group additionally appealed to the party’s flagbearer, Mahamudu Bawumia, and the national leadership of the NPP to intervene and help resolve the dispute.
They further alleged that some individuals believed to have affiliations with the National Democratic Congress (NDC) had found their way onto the NPP delegates register, raising concerns about the integrity of the party’s internal electoral system.
The aggrieved delegates maintained that failure to address the situation could negatively affect party unity and its electoral prospects. They therefore urged the national leadership to conduct a thorough review of the delegates register and restore the names of all legitimately affected members.
The group expressed confidence that swift intervention by the national executives would help restore trust, unity, and transparency within the Offinso South Constituency.
