He noted that the facilities would provide a conducive environment for teaching and learning and help improve access to quality education throughout the district.
According to the DCE, the projects are being financed through the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund) and are expected to be completed within 12 months.
He added that the new infrastructure would help reduce overcrowding in schools and create opportunities for more teachers to be posted to the district.
Hon. Effah Patrick further expressed optimism that the expansion of classroom and dormitory facilities would eventually help eliminate the double-track system by increasing the capacity of senior high schools in the area.
He also disclosed that the District Assembly is yet to receive its share of the District Assemblies Common Fund to undertake other planned development projects.
The District Director of Education, Stephen Kwasi Botwe, described himself as the most fortunate Education Director in the Bono East Region in terms of infrastructure support.
According to him, he inherited several challenges relating to inadequate educational facilities, but the strong collaboration between the District Assembly, the DCE, and the Member of Parliament has significantly helped address some of these deficits.
He commended the efforts of the district leadership, noting that their commitment to education continues to accelerate development within the district.
