New Black Stars Coach to Be Announced Today — Sports Minister
The Minister of Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, has confirmed that the much-anticipated announcement of a new head coach for the Ghana national football team will be made today.
The Minister revealed that the selection process is nearing completion, with only a few final consultations remaining.
“We’ve come very far in the process. If everything goes as planned, we will be ready to announce the new Black Stars head coach by Monday, April 13, 2026. The discussions are almost done, and we just need to finalize a few details,” he stated.
The appointment follows months of deliberations by the Ghana Football Association, which has been working to identify a suitable replacement for former coach Otto Addo after his departure.
The GFA Executive Committee is said to have carefully assessed several candidates, focusing on experience, tactical vision, and the ability to rebuild the team.
The decision is seen as crucial for the future of Ghana’s senior national team, particularly as the country prepares for upcoming fixtures, including the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
The new coach is expected to take charge at a critical time, with fans and stakeholders hoping for a renewed direction and improved performance from the Black Stars.
