NDC Leadership Launches Free Core Subject Classes for BECE Graduates in Twifu Atti Morkwa

The leadership of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Twifu Atti Morkwa District has launched a free academic intervention programme for recent Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) graduates to prepare them for their transition to Senior High School (SHS).
The initiative is aimed at improving students’ performance in the core subjects of English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science, equipping them with the knowledge and confidence needed to excel at the secondary level.
Speaking in an interview, the District Chief Executive for Twifu Atti Morkwa, Isaac Yawson, said the programme was introduced to give students in the district a strong academic foundation before SHS placements are completed.
According to him, the intervention is a collaborative effort involving the Member of Parliament for the constituency, David T. D. Vondee, and the Central Regional representative on the Council of State, Hakeem Addae. He noted that the partnership seeks to simplify the teaching of core subjects while boosting students’ confidence ahead of their next stage of education.
Meanwhile, the manager of the programme, Benedicta Joycelin, assured parents that adequate measures have been put in place to ensure the safety and discipline of all participating students throughout the duration of the classes.
She explained that management has introduced a strict communication system to keep parents informed of their children’s movements after each day’s lessons.
“Immediately after classes end, we contact parents directly to inform them that their children have left for home. This ensures accountability and gives parents peace of mind by knowing exactly when to expect their children,” she said.
Several beneficiaries of the free classes also expressed appreciation to the NDC leadership for the initiative, describing it as timely and beneficial. They said the programme has enhanced their understanding of the core subjects and increased their confidence as they prepare to begin Senior High School.
Parents also commended the organisers for investing in the education of young people in the district, describing the intervention as a significant step towards improving academic standards in Twifu Atti Morkwa.
