Ministry of Health Sets Up Committee to Probe Unrest at Techiman-Krobo Nursing Training College
The Ministry of Health has constituted a seven-member committee to investigate the unrest at the Nursing Training College, Techiman-Krobo.
According to a press statement issued on August 3, 2026, and signed by Ministry Spokesperson Tony Goodman, the committee is chaired by Prof. Vida Nyagre Yekong, Deputy Registrar of Health Facilities at the Health Facilities Regulatory Authority and former Dean of the School of Nursing at the University for Development Studies (UDS).
Other members of the committee are:
Mr. Ahmed Bennett Mumuni – Human Resource Manager of the Bono East Regional Coordinating Council
Nana Asa Akon Panin – Techiman-Krobohene
Mrs. Hepthzebah Gyimah – Deputy Director of Operations and Representative of the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)
Mrs. Isha Sena Iddrisu – Secretary to the Conference of Heads of Health Training
Nashiru-Deen Akparibo – President of the Ghana Nurse-Midwife Trainees’ Association (GNMTA)
Dr. Inua Yussuf Issahaku Esq. – Legal Director of the Ministry of Health
The committee is expected to establish the facts surrounding the issues that led to the unrest at the school, review and determine whether existing policies, code of conduct and administrative procedures were complied with, and make recommendations to the Minister for Health for appropriate action.
It has been directed to submit a comprehensive report to the Minister on or before August 11, 2026.
