Manso Akroso DCE Leads National Sanitation Day Cleanup at Akyem Batabi

The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Asene Manso Akroso, Hon. Eric Ahinakwa, has led a massive cleanup exercise at Akyem Batabi as part of activities marking National Sanitation Day.
The exercise, held on Saturday, June 6, brought together a large number of residents and community members who participated in clearing choked drains and removing heaps of refuse from various parts of the township.
Representing the DCE at the event, the District Environmental Health Officer (DEHO), Robert Amewuga, commended residents for their active participation and commitment towards improving sanitation in the area.
He urged Assembly Members within the district to organise regular community cleanup exercises instead of relying only on the national sanitation calendar.
Mr. Amewuga also warned that the Assembly would strictly enforce environmental sanitation bylaws against individuals who engage in indiscriminate dumping of refuse.
According to him, maintaining clean surroundings is a shared responsibility that requires continuous public cooperation to protect public health and prevent disease outbreaks.
Participants at the exercise praised the DCE for leading by example and demonstrating commitment to environmental cleanliness.
They also appealed to government to extend more developmental projects to the district to improve living conditions in the area.
The cleanup formed part of nationwide efforts aimed at promoting environmental sanitation and encouraging community participation in maintaining clean and healthy surroundings.
